Friends of Patagonia Library

Patagonia Library’s Storywalk® which launched in 2019 is an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Take a walk through Patagonia’s town park starting by the old train depot at Town Hall as you read laminated pages from a selected children’s book installed along the length of the park’s walkway. A comments box is also installed at the end of the walk for you to tell library staff how much you enjoyed your stroll!

This month’s feature is “How Jackrabbit Got His Very Long Ears” is a picture book by Heather Irbinska, illustrated by Kenneth Spengler. It is a tale about listening carefully.

It is available to check out, plus our friends at The Patagonia Trading Post have copies in stock for you to take home and read again.

 Culture Pass

One of our favorite offerings that the Patagonia Library provides to our patrons are “culture passes” which are available through a program called Act One Arizona. They provide free passes to cultural events and museums across Arizona. The library currently has more than twenty culture passes for check out and each pass grants two free tickets to the museum or event. The offering includes the Reid Park Zoo, the Amerind Museum in Dragoon, the Tubac Presidio, the Tucson Desert Art Museum plus lots more.

The Culture Pass Program’s goal is to make cultural sites and events accessible to all Arizona residents and they are constantly updating the list of offered passes. Every library that partners with this program has a limited number of passes per location each week. Once checked out, the passes are good for seven days.

Come by the library for more information and to check them out for yourself!
