The Friends of Patagonia Library held two major book sales in 2010.  Our first major fundraising sale is held annually on the 4th of July and takes place in air-conditioned comfort in the Town Council Chambers.  A side benefit of spending time at this event is that the volunteers and patrons have balcony seats for the mid-day parade, looking down on all the activity! This year’s July 4th book sale was again a financial success, a “fund raiser” as well as a “friend-raiser”

Our second annual book sale happens at the Fall Festival the second weekend of October and is located just beyond the parking lot of the Community Center.  This year we were assisted in setting up by two dozen Patagonia High School students and Mr. Sweet, their teacher and football coach.  Students moved and unpacked multiple boxes of books, all in good spirits, and each was invited to choose a book, a small token of Friends’ appreciation for the volunteer service they performed.

The fall sale this year took place over three days and once again we were well rewarded for the work.  Endless gratitude to our Patagonia High School senior class, Mr. Sweet, and all our loyal volunteers who continue to make our book sales possible and successful!

As a reminder, One hundred percent of our library’s acquisitions and collections are funded by the Friends’ book sales, events and donations.
