A classic text which re-defined an entire genre of literature:the non-fiction novel, as it is called. Capotes’s New York sensibility (we now know, heavily infused with Harper Lee’s common sense) attempts to understand the deadly encounter between a typical american family and two murderous drifters.

COMMUNITY GATHERING AT TOWN HALL

                             TOPIC:  SUBSIDIZED HOME LOANS and       SWEAT EQUITY for SANTA CRUZ RESIDENTS

 

   GOAL: AFFORDABLE HOUSING

 

TWO MEETINGS OFFERED: October 11, Wednesday 5 P.M. - 6 P.M.

                                       November 15, Wednesday 5 P.M. - 6 P.M.

 

These two meetings will focus on subsidy based loans available through USDA Rural Development (281-0221 ext. 100) and Chicanos Por La Causa (281-9570)

 

 

Nogales bilingual program leader, Gabriela Gorman, from USDA Rural Development, will explain:

  1. How these funds are available and applied for
  2. What the eligibility requirements are
  3. Necessary procedures for credit acceptance, including re-establishing credit

 

Nogales bilingual program leader, Bertha Ojeda, from Chicanos Por La Causa, will explain:

  1. What formula is used to determine work hours required by families to subsidize down-payment costs
  2. How building your own home is managed and supervised
  3. What skills are developed while building your own home

 

These two programs have assisted 200 families in achieving affordable housing in the Rio Rico and Nogales areas.

 

Both meetings will be limited to 1 hour. Please be ready on time to receive our guest speakers. Bilingual child care will be available, so come extra early if you need child care.

 

We appreciate all efforts to come to this meeting, after work and before dinner. Healthy snacks will be provided.
