Building a New Generation of Readers is a nationwide early literacy project supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records (ASLAPR). Public and school librarians received training to provide parents, guardians and childcare workers with the strategies and skills to ensure reading readiness for preschool children. Participating libraries, including the Patagonia Public Schools and Patagonia Public Library are now using this training to offer workshops in their communities.
These workshops will be held at two locations, St. Theresa’s Parish Hall and the Patagonia Elementary School Library. Each workshop will focus on age-specific literacy techniques for parents, guardians and caregivers of children from birth through kindergarten. Any parent, guardian, or childcare provider in Santa Cruz County is invited to attend. Continuing Education credits are available for childcare providers. Please see the schedule below for more information.
